‘Butter Knives’ a personal project in collaboration with model maker  Bill Turpin and retouching by Gareth Pritchard.

Shining a light on the ease and accessibility of young people procuring knives in the UK.

Within the last few years, bigger and more vicious blades have become everyday objects – seen as a status symbol on the streets and glorified online. For some young people, the action of carrying a knife has become as normalised as buttering toast.

The three knives seen in the series are amongst the types of weapons given up during the “Forever Knife” amnesty.
